These low-resolution digital files of the original watercolor art produced by Tracy Hohn, illustrator extraordinaire, for the book Heroes Need Practice, Too!, do not do justice to the color and detail of each illustration. I am loathe to part with any of them.

However, I am doing so for a good cause.

After publishing the book Heroes Need Practice, Too!, it came to my attention that firefighters across the nation are having their hearts broken each and every day. The men and women who respond anytime of the day or night to put out fires and rescue us also see children who have big problems.

These children are using fire as a scream for help.

Youthful firesetting has been an under-reported problem for quite some time because these fires are started, after all, when "it's just a kid playing with matches", right? Wrong. Yeah, yeah, a little bit of that happens. However, this is not why or how the majority of these fires are set. Yet these children, some as young as 2, because they are using fire as a call for help, need specialized attention and are not getting it. Why? No money.

This is a growing nationwide problem and funding is extremely scarce. Now, being only one woman, and having limited funds, I asked myself, "Self, what can you do to help out the Youthful Firesetters Intervention Council?" I answered myself, "Well, we could sell the art and donate money towards the effort!" I agreed with myself.

This issue is effecting all of us. Now is the time to take a look at and pick out the one (or more!) illustrations you want to hang in your firehouse, place of business, home, or daycare.

Write your tax-deductible check out to: Henry County Youthful Firesetters Intervention Council for the total amount of the illustration(s).

For each picture you purchase add insurance coverage and shipping (to the US lower 48) of: $35.00.

When your check clears, I will call you to tell you your beautiful, original art is shipping.

And, as an added thank you (don't I sound just like a commercial, "But WAIT! There's more!) I will also send a copy of the book Heroes Need Practice, Too!, signed by me, the author, and the illustrator as my thanks to you.
