This is a picture of the author when she was
seven years old. The same age as Mike. Angela is holding her
favorite doll.
Angela K. Durden
lived in Texas at the time and her grandpa would drive from
Georgia all the way to Texas to see her. She loved her
grandfather. When he came to visit he would drive her to
school in the morning and pick her up in the afternoon.
Even when she was a little girl, she liked to
write and tell stories. Her classmates loved her stories. Use your imagination to write a
story then read it to your classmates.
Here is a list with some of Mrs. Durden’s
favorite words. See if you can use all these words in one
story. Then have your mother, father, or teacher send the
story to Mike and Grandpa so they can read it.
